I like Valentine’s Day…

I know some people feel “it’s just another Hallmark holiday” or that “it’s a day to celebrate superficial love” and that somehow diminishes the word “LOVE” as related to the Gospel and God’s perfect love for us.

Umm…let me get on my soap box here…

I don’t think buying cute cards or small gifts to say “I Love You” to my family diminishes the meaning of God’s love for them.

I think Valentine’s Day is just a fun day to make those people you love feel special…I like that! There…I said it!

So if you DO like to get something little for you husband or kids here are a couple ideas to not make you feel like a “heathen” and allow you to sleep at night…I’m just kidding…

I actually got this devotional for my hubs this Christmas and he LOVES it…

The girls got new bibles with their names engraved on them along with new devotional books…

We got Eva this one…

This would be great for any grade school age boy or girl…

…and Tova loves her new one cause for the most part she’s able to read it on her own…of course it’s better if we let her read it out loud to us and then we can talk about it together.

They both really like their new devotional books! I found them at Family Christian Stores. They’re a great last minute Valentine gift for your sweetie!

BUT if you wanna get really CRAZY and buy something superficial like candy or flowers…go for it…I won’t tell anyone! Happy Valentine’s Day!
